If cooking has ever given you a feeling other than total elation, you should probably get in tune with Tamar Adler. You might feel tempted to think she is out of your league being a recently-published author, founder of a CSA, and former cook at some well-known restaurants. The fact of the matter, however, is she wants you, and everyone else, to feel able to cook as if nobody is watching. She has recently worked with Edible Schoolyard NYC to establish a new generation of American home cooks. Her recent book An Everlasting Meal champions the empty pantry and cooking great meals today with yesterday’s leftovers. She sums it up best herself:
“There is a prevailing theory that we need to know much more than we do in order to feed ourselves well. It isn’t true.”
Cooking doesn’t need to be hard. This is why we are so honored to have her speaking for us in May.
